Grammy-Nominated and multi-award winning composer, singer, musician, and music video director.

DEVO founder Gerald V. Casale is the band’s co-principle songwriter, including “Whip It,” “Beautiful World,” “Freedom of Choice,” and “Gates of Steel.” Casale was also primarily responsible for designing DEVO’s acclaimed concert stage shows, and Dadaist costumes, such as the famous red “Energy Dome” hats. An award-winning music video and commercial director, Gerald began directing DEVO’s groundbreaking films in the 1970s & ‘80s. He directed nearly 100 music videos in the ‘90s for bands as varied as The Foo Fighters, Silverchair, and Soundgarden, before moving on to TV spots. Currently Casale remains active, collaborating with Phunk Investigation, artist Max Papeschi, drummer Josh Freese, Oingo Boingo alumni Steve Bartek, VR metaverse developers 4D Fun Inc., and the CGI artist Davy Force. Casale’s new EP “The Invisible Man” will be released on November 25th 2022 for Record Store Day.
